Dear Mom-mentum Community and Supporters,
It is with great sadness and regret we inform you that after more than four decades of service to mothers nationwide, Mom-mentum will be suspending operations. This difficult decision was made as a direct result of the current funding climate.
Founded in 1974 by forward-thinking leaders, Mom-mentum (formerly known as the National Association of Mothers’ Centers) began as a grassroots, mom-to-mom support program. Our network of local programs still offer the opportunity to have discussions among mothers to better recognize the challenges, realities and value of mothering.
Mom-mentum’s accomplishments over the last few decades have been impressive. Guided by leadership from our centers, library programs, and circles and under the direction of a dedicated board and staff, Mom-mentum developed a wide range of resources and programs to support mothers throughout the nation.
An important consideration for Mom-mentum is to ensure that these critical resources continue to be broadly available to our Mothers’ Centers. For the time being, Mom-mentum members will still have access to our discussion guides and resources through our website. We are currently assessing opportunities to make sure this access continues indefinitely. You will be updated with additional developments as we wind up operations over the next few months.
We want to thank you for your commitment to Mom-mentum over the years. Although unable to continue our current operations, we are confident that we accomplished the larger goal of raising awareness and setting standards for the support of all mothers and the work they do.
Mom-mentum Board of Directors and Staff
